Below Erik Velasco answers 5 questions pertaining to his career.

I come from a long line of Hair Stylists in my family, including Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. I can say that when it comes to the art of Hair Styling that is definitely in my blood! Getting into hair was an extremely natural progression for me.

In high school I had to step back and decide what it was I wanted to do with my life. I had three different directions that my life could take: Hair Styling, Fashion Designing or becoming a Singer and song writer. As I loved all three career paths, only two were possible in order to make me happy and fulfilled. So, I chose to pursue Hair Styling full time and to be a singer and songwriter the other part of the time.

My love for both Hair Styling and music opened the door to working with Celebrity Musicians. To see Celebrity Musicians wearing my Hair Styling, Coloring and Extensions work confirms my passion for both Hair Styling and music.

I must say that I don't ever regret my decision as I love every moment of doing hair and I am very proud to call myself a Hair Stylist. And, of course I also perform in a band, and continue to write songs.

I love to see people smile and to have the opportunity to change their lives with my talent. A simple highlight or a hair cut can make such an improvement in someone's life. The fact that my Clients also look forward to spending time with me while having their hair done is a great aspect of my life.

To provide my Clients the time to relax after a full day or week of work or time spent with family is as rewarding for me as it is to them.

Basically, I love what I do, and my love for my work is felt by my Clients and that makes me very happy. It's a win-win situation - always!

STYLING?
Very "Hollywood Wave", a modern Farrah Fawcett with a twist of classic Chic Beyonce.

I love to create a shiny, flowing texture to any hair type whether fine, medium or coarse. Styling is key to bringing out a great hair color and great cut.

Without the ultimate finish it can fall flat - but NOT with these two hands though!

Basically, I can transform any hair type into a result that my Client loves!

COLORING?
I color hair based on my Clients. I like to see their vision and to have them explain the color results in their own terms of vibrancy. I do not use synthetic hair swatches as this is no different than showing "tubes of paint" to someone who has requested a custom painting.

Coloring hair is an art form and my experience has proven this. Creating great hair color is a complete art form.

When a Client describes her colors to be I am able to custom mix hair colors that are custom for her and thus create an exact mix of beautiful hair colors that are specifically mixed to achieve her desired end result.

My color work is custom and original, thus making it a color that I can recreate on my Client whereas others would not be able to do so if they began with only one color from one swatch.

SERVICING OTHERS?
First and foremost on my list is my Clientele. No one comes before them.

I live for my Clients and am always striving to make them happier than what they already are.

I tend to know all about the current affairs of the entertainment and music industry, and I always make sure that the results I provide my Clients are better than what is out there.

"Trendsetter" is a term that some could use to describe my services. While others could challenge "Is a very happy, and extremely satisfied Client really a trend?"

My vote is that it is both because it is rare in this town to provide original hair work every single time resulting in extremely happy Clients. But, it is common at the My Bella Color Studio!

I'm happy to be servicing my Clients in an environment where "best service and excellent results" is expected to occur!

Ever since I began my career in 2001 I have set yearly goals for myself. I have done this so that I would not miss any opportunity that life would have to offer me.

I've gone on tour with musical acts (recording artists), I've designed hair on album covers, I've styled hair for model shoots, latin television shows, and MySpace events.

Life has been great because I have accomplished a lot in such little time.

I can't wait for the future!

My next move will most likely have to do with my own Studio Salon.

I also intend on traveling overseas, working on a cruise line, and having my hair coloring and extensions work captivated on more recording artists, actors, actresses.

Mainly, my goal is make continued progress in the Entertainment Industry.

As I prepare for my present and future, I have not forgotten from where I have come. The only reason I want to accomplish so much is so that I can give my family the best outcome when it comes to retirement and everyday struggles that every human being goes through.

We're here for a short time and because I have been given the talent to make someone else happy, why not spread that to the world and let everyone know that if I can succeed the next generation of Hair Stylists will go even further.

I take pride in my work and I do not rest until I see a smile on my Client's face. It's easy to frown, but to make a smile, sometimes takes blood, sweat and tears. I am willing to go to that length - to the ends of the earth - to make everyone more beautiful and happier than what they already are.
