Answering Clients Questions...
Below you will find some of the most commonly asked questions by new Clients answered. |
|
QUESTION: WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE COLOR RESULTS YOU ACHIEVE AT THE STUDIO AND THE RESULTS ACHIEVED BY OTHERS?
|
ANSWER:
When it comes to the hair coloring results we achieve we definitely take the lead! And it's not our idea of our work - it's what our Clients tell us!
The reasons for this are many! First, is that we always aim to deliver hair coloring results far above the expectations of the Client!
We not only make certain that the initial consultation is extremely thorough, but we make certain that we know exactly what it is that the Client wants!
Here are some aspects that our end results always include:
1. Health, Shine and Color pigments in the hair increased
2. Hair color result created that fits into the Client's "touch-up" budget
3. Colors that highly compliment the skin tone and eye color
4. Hair Color placement that fits into the Client's life style and personality
5. Hair Color placement that works with the existing hair texture and style
Our results are regularly described as "The best hair coloring I have ever had in Los Angeles!", "This is always what I wanted, but no other Colorist could seem to do it!" and "My new hair color is even better than I thought it would be!"
From these testimonials we easily conclude that the hair coloring results we achieve at our Studio on a daily basis for our Clients are far above and beyond their expectations!
And that makes our hair coloring results better than others!

QUESTION: HOW ARE THE MY BELLA COLOR STUDIO COLOR EXCELLENT HAIR COLOING RESULTS ACHIEVED?
 |
|
ANSWER:
We are Artists with Hair color! We know what color can do and can not do. We know COLOR inside and out and up and down! We know how to place foils to achieve the end results! We break the traditional rules because we know how to get the results intended!
Plus, we know the correct questions to ask each Client - such as "What is the history of the hair color applications on your hair?", "What don't you like about your hair color now?", "What color results do you want to achieve?", "What have you been told by other Colorists about your desired hair color?", "What look do you want your hair color to have?" and the list goes on and on and on.
You see, we ask the questions until we KNOW EXACTLY what it is each CLIENT WANTS!
And we continue to communicate until the Client fully understands what has occurred previously with her past hair color applications, and what we will be doing to correct it so that the Client is in love with her new hair color!
That is where we start! And the end results are greater than the Client expects! |

|
|
QUESTION: DOES A CLIENT NEED TO PREPARE FOR HER APPOINTMENT?
|
ANSWER:
We ask our Clients to find pictures of hair colors that are similar to the hair color they desire. If the Client doesn't have any, we have plenty!
We ask that Client not arrive to the salon with freshly washed hair! We like it when there are natural oils in the hair. Clean hair is not easy to weave through - it's too fly-away and we need to pick through every strand! Although we will work on freshly washed hair if we have to, we prefer the hair to have natural oils in it. It makes it much easier to pick through!
We ask that the Client allow us plenty of time. Sometimes the initial consultation takes 30 minutes. Plus, it is common that the first color application to take as long as 2 hours to weave through the existing colors to safeguard against overlapping and breakage. We ask that you give us your time so we can give you ours without being rushed.
We ask that when you have approved the new hair color that you do not change your mind mid-way through the color application. We ask that you understand that the results achieved may be a shock at first, but that within a couple of days you will get used to the new color. We ask that you don't look at your hair in the office under green fluorescent lights. We ask that you admire your new hair color in soft natural light.
Together we will create an exceptional hair color for you! All you have to do is arrive with pictures, or find a picture at our Studio, have some natural oils in your hair, and allow us the time to spoil you rotten! |

|
QUESTION: WHAT IF THE CLIENT DOESN'T KNOW WHAT SHE WANTS?

|
|
ANSWER:
Sometimes our greatest joy is the Client who comments, "I don't know what I want. You're the Pro, you DO YOUR THING!"
And, most certainly the response she will get is not only a big smile, but commonly a big "Perfect! I'll go mix the colors...", and "you make yourself comfortable!" As the Colorist yells across the Salon - "I've been given artistic license to create! I've got a total create happening over here!" And the others yell back, "You go!"
However, this is not the "norm" (although if we were spoiled it would be)... but we know that together, we will figure out a great hair color and shape that will look the best and fit within the budget!
To help the Client choose a hair color she wants, here are some of the things she can take into account: The look of the color results (natural, playful, funky, punky, extreme, soft), how often she wants to return to have her hair color re-touched (3, 4, 5, 6 or 8 - 10 weeks), and how much money she wants to spend on the initial color application and the touch-ups.
As earlier mentioned, all a Client has to to do is arrive. We'll take care of the details! And you will leave our Studio happier than you imagined!
This is what we do! We create HAPPY CLIENTS who LOVE their hair!
And Clients who LOVE their hair have received results that are better than expected! So, we'll ask you the questions needed to figure out what it is that will look best on you... and we'll make it happen again and again! |

|
QUESTION: WHAT IS THE MOST COMMON MISUNDERSTANDING A CLIENT HAS?
|
ANSWER:
Unfortunately a new Client often arrives with "data" about her hair that has been provided by someone that did not know what they were doing. All too often we find that Clients have been told that the results they actually want can "not be done". And when we asked "Who told you this?", we find that the past Colorist was the one who closed the door to the Client's desired results.
So, the first thing we do is ask the Client what she wants and what she has been told about her desired results. If it is a new idea, then most likely she found us on time. But, if she has been all over town asking for her results and has been told that it "can't be done", then we will handle the Clients' considerations based on what she has been told so that she is able to understand that the color results she wants CAN be ACHIEVED!
The other mis-information a Client may have is how color works. Sometimes a Client will tell us "Do not use Bleach." But this is based on erroneous information she has heard. We'll make certain to gain the trust of the Client so that she knows that bleach can be safely used (if needed to achieve her end results).
Another common thing we run into is that Clients have never had their hair colored the way we color hair. Most Clients have received the one color process first, and then highlights have been placed into the hair. This is great if someone wants to have two colors in their hair - with the end results visibly stating, "I color my hair."
But, what we do is very, very different than other Colorists! We place all of the colors into the hair during ONE foiling application. We can place as many as 6 different colors into the hair during one foil application!
But, once a Client understands how we do it, she will happily receive her many new hair colors!
And, the results are spectacular! Far above and beyond her expectations! We know, because we do this every day! |

|
QUESTION: CAN A CLIENT SUCCESSFULLY COMMUNICATE TO A COLORIST?
 |
|
ANSWER:
Absolutely! Any Client can successfully communicate to a Colorist so long as the Colorist knows the correct questions to ask!
We are Professional Hair Color Specialists that have a thorough understanding of hair, color, hair color, hair texture, growth patterns, different looks of hair colors, and first and foremost - we know how to get the results that are desired by the Client!
When the Client arrives she will be asked many questions.
If the Client and the Colorist do not both CLICK on the desired end result, then the color application won't be started.
We do not begin to formulate the color, decide on the foiling application techniques needed or begin to color the hair until both the Colorist and the Client are entirely on the same page! This is called "duplication" of the desired end result. The Colorist and the Client both have the same thing in mind!
Only once the Colorist and Client have the same image in mind can the color application procedures begin.
Therefore, we will ask many questions, and the Client will communicate... and once it CLICKS - then we both know that the communication has been SUCCESSFULY!

QUESTION: DOES HAIR COLOR CORRECTION DAMAGE THE HAIR?
|
ANSWER:
One of the most common things we need to handle with the new Clients at the Studio who are in need of corrective hair color are the many rumors that other Colorists and Stylists have spread about color correction.
These are some of the points that we state prior to beginning a color correction procedure:
1. Hair Color can safely be removed from the hair without damaging the hair!
2. Hair that has been previously colored darker can not be lightened with a lighter hair color - as hair color does not remove hair color.
3. Hair Color that has been previously colored and is now darker than the desired hair color must be lifted out of the hair in order for a new, lighter hair color to be achieved.
4. Highlights placed on top of previously colored hair - where the ends are darker - will not result in an even highlight. The color pigment must first be removed and then the highlights and other colors can be placed into the hair.
5. That once the darker hair color pigment has been removed from the hair the new color will be placed onto the hair and the hair color results WILL be shinier and healthier than imagined possible!
6. If the existing hair colors in the hair are are not vertical, but have created horizontal bands in the hair, then all of the hair will need to be picked through in order to create vertical hair colors. This is done with multiple colors tediously placed into the hair with foils to get rid of the horizontal bands. This falls under color correction due to the amount of time the color correction procedure will take. Please allow up to 3 hours for a complete head of corrective foils.
7. After the hair color has been corrected regular appointments can occur as desired for touch-ups. |

QUESTION: IS THERE ANYTHING THE CLIENT SHOULD DO TO HER HAIR PRIOR TO HAVING HER HAIR COLORED?

|
|
ANSWER:
If the Client uses a metal Flat Iron with shine serums all of the time, then there is a product removal application that may need to be done prior to having the hair colors placed into her hair. This is something we do quite often at the salon when we see a flat iron/build up in the hair.
If the Client uses a tremendous amount of product in her hair then we ask that she use a clarifying shampoo and condition her hair very well prior to arriving. And, we don't mean the morning of her hair appointment. We mean two days before, and then no shampooing prior to her appointment.
If her hair is extremely curly and very, very long, we may ask that the Client straighten her hair with either a blow dryer or ceramic flat iron prior to her visit. This helps save a lot of time as we pick through the hair to place the new colors into the hair.
If the Client has a very tiny amount of re-growth, but wants her blonde highlights to be re-touched, we may ask that she allow a little more time for the re-growth to get longer. When doing a foil highlighting re-touch, we ask that there be at least one-half inch of growth. The reason for this is that we do not overlap the bleach onto the old highlights. We'll pick through the hair very carefully, but we need some length on the re-growth to do this perfectly.
White, bleached hair is not possible to achieve without breakage! If the Client wants to have "white" highlights, then we inform her that the protein molecules in the hair are yellow - and that if she wants white, then those molecules will be too fragile! Therefore, we will get the hair to a palest butter blonde and then educate the Client on how to tone her hair to white at home.
We'll be happy to educate you so long as you understand that the reason we are able to educate you is because we have many years of experience.
We are Professionals - and we will achieve your results while we educate you in the interim! |

|
QUESTION: WHAT ABOUT TIPPING?
|
ANSWER:
If the Client is pleased with the service provided by the Stylist/Colorist and Assistant, we ask that you show your gratitude by tipping those individuals who have directly worked on your hair.
We do not include an additional amount of money in the total hair ticket to compensate for a tip. We ask that you tip in addition to the total price of your ticket.
It is standard for tips to be 15-20% of the service price. Some Clients tip more because they are thrilled with their services and want us to know!
And - who ever started the rumor, "Don't tip the owner of the Salon" must have been crazy!
The owner is the one who is paying all of the bills and keeping the Salon running for the other Stylists and Colorists!
It is recommended that you always tip (even the owner) when you are pleased with the work provided you.
We're not shy. We thought you show know how the tipping at our Studio works. That way... you can feel free to always communicate to us about anything.
It is our goal to always be up front with you and to offer you exceptional service again and again and again! |

QUESTION: WHAT EXACTLY IS MEANT BY MULTI-COLORED HAIR COLOR?

|
|
ANSWER:
From frosting caps to one process hair colors with bleach highlights placed into the hair afterward - THOSE DAYS ARE GONE!
At our Studio we offer ORIGINAL FOILING WORK CUSTOM DESIGNED to create the results you desire!
We can create custom hair colors for you that are unlike any hair coloring results you have ever seen before!
By multiple colored hair we mean just that! We are known to place, 3, 4, 5 or even 6 hair colors into the hair during ONE FOILING APPLICATION!
The colors that you can combine are as wide a range as an artist can create colors with tubes of paint!
We can create warm brown, carmels, honey and pale butter blondes.
We can create dark ash brown, light brown, cool wheat and platinum highlights for you.
We can create fire engine reds, warm auburns, gold and fine streaks of mahogany browns!
If you can envision it we can create it!
This is what we do daily at our Studio!
It's ART IN MOTION one Client at a time! |

|
|
QUESTION: HOW OFTEN DOES MULTI-COLORED HAIR NEED TO BE TOUCHED UP?
|
ANSWER:
The beauty of multi-colored hair color is not only in the end result, but that it fades so beautifully!
Over time the multiple hair colors tend to blend together, resulting in a very natural looking hair color.
If the Client asks for us to create a multiple hair color result for her that will enable her to go up to 12 weeks between touch-ups we can do that!
No matter how often a Client wants to return to the salon, we can create a hair color combination that will enable her to return when she wants!
Plus, when we color your hair, we get to the scalp! Yes, this is true - you will not see any of your natural re-growth at the base of our foiling work!
When we say touching up the regrowth we mean it! All of it! (Unless we use some of your natural hair as one of the colors in your hair.)
So, not only will you love your hair color, but since we get all the way to the scalp when we color hair, you will be able to go longer between touch-ups.
The money you will spend on your hair coloring services at the Studio is well worth it because you won't be complaining of roots in a week!
Nowhere else is hair coloring done like how we do it.
At the Studio - We PERFORM THE FINE ART OF BEAUTY! |
|
|

|
QUESTION: HOW LONG CAN I GO BETWEEN HAIR COLOR APPOINTMENTS?
 |
|
ANSWER:
How long a Client can go between hair coloring appointments is something that is taken up during the initial color consultation.
While most women love to have their hair colored, they really don't want to have to return every 4 weeks!
Not only do monthly visits to the Colorist take time, but who wants to have to spend money on their hair color every month?
Now, we would love to have you as often as you want to come see us, but we also want to make your gorgeous hair color affordable to you!
We want you able to afford your hair color and be happy to return on your desired scheduled touch-up appointments.
So, you let us know - How long do you want to go between hair coloring touch-up appointments? - and we will create a hair color that will fit into your budget and time!
What more can you ask for? Great hair?
We can take care of that easily. All you have to do is arrive!!! |

QUESTION: DOES THE BRAND OF HAIR COLOR USED AFFECT THE RESULTS?
|
ANSWER:
At our Studio we are Artists and we have our favorite lines of hair colors to use.
What makes a line of hair color better than others? What makes one line of hair color create better results than others?
There are TWO elements that predict the hair coloring results in terms of hair color brand used.
The first is whether or not that color is true to it's color description. Some hair color lines say that the Natural Brown is a Natural Brown - but after color mixing, it is found to have a "blue" base to it. Some lines state that their warm red is warm, but after application it is found to result in a cool red.
So, the first priority of choosing a brand of hair color is whether or not the COLOR that it says is in it is in fact IN IT!
The second is how well it covers gray, and whether or not is adds shine and increases the health of the hair!
When a hair color line has COLOR true to the description, covers gray well, adds shine and increases the health of the hair - then THAT HAIR COLOR WILL CREATE excellent results!
Hair Color results are predictable when the color brand used is true to it's descriptions!
The whole reason we take COLOR description into account is because we do NOT use ONE COLOR out of the BOTTLE when we mix. We combine two or three of them to create ONE custom color.
So, when we use 3-6 colors during one foiling application, you may be getting a total of 18 colors mixed together!
And THAT IS HOW WE CREATE ART with COLORING HAIR! |
|

|

|
QUESTION: HOW PREDICTABLE ARE THE
RESULTS ACHIEVED AT THE STUDIO?

|
|
ANSWER:
Once the Colorist and the Client have chosen a hair coloring result that is desired by the Client, then the Colorist will do the work necessary to create that desired end result.
We do achieve the results desired, but sometimes it happens that the Client thought she wanted that much red, or warmth, but after she sees it she may become uncertain about how she looks with it.
This is one aspect of the results that must be taken into account - it is a NEW HAIR COLOR that is being achieved and this is a CHANGE!
Some people adapt to change better than others. So, we only ask that you prepare yourself for the change that will be occurring in your hair color!
We use our knowledge of hair, color, hair color, foiling applications, and more when we create a new hair color for you.
We know how to CHANGE hair from one color to another... but it is the Client who has to be prepared to wear that CHANGE!
The majority of our Clients are always thrilled with their hair color!
There are only a few Clients who are shocked... but after a couple of days we receive messages from them saying that they got used to their new hair and love it!
Once a hair color is chosen, agreed upon, and achieved, any additional re-coloring to the hair can be done within 5 business days at 50% the service price. |

QUESTION: HOW DID YOU LAND IN ELLE
MAGAZINE?

|
|
SHARON SOVINSKI:
When I worked in a Hair Salon in
Beverly Hills the way in which I was customizing my hair color foiling work did not gain me much "popularity" amongst the other Stylists or the Salon Manager.
Although my Hair Color Clients were ecstatic, I had broken "out of the box"!
Because of my original foiling work not being so "welcomed" by competing Stylists and Colorists, I left Beverly Hills and opened
my own Hair Salon so I could do the type of Hair
Color work I love to do.
As soon as I made the move, my Hair Color
Clientele sky rocketed!
I was receiving about 5 new
Hair Color Clients per WEEK!
It was my Original Hair Coloring Foil
Work and continued excellent Hair Coloring results
that landed me in Elle Magazine. When the woman from Elle
Magazine called to invite me to be included as one of the "Top Ten Masters of Makeovers" - I happily accepted!
To share my success with other Hair Stylists, I
then created the bilingual (English and Spanish) "Panels & Chunks" video/DVD and continued to document all of my successful actions so that others can have the same success in their own Hair Coloring Careers.
Since ELLE, I have received recognition in W, and have gone on to create the largest online hair coloring concept available on the internet today.
ELLE was the acknowledgement I needed! It got me thinking BIGGER! |

|
|
QUESTION: HOW DID YOU GET INTO "W" MAGAZINE AS TOP TRENDSETTING SALON?
|
SHARON SOVINSKI:
After I opened the Studio, I immediately received a phone call from the same person who interviewed for me ELLE!
She had been keeping tabs on me - waiting for my new Studio to be complete. Of course I accepted!
This time I was included in "W" as one of the "Top Trendsetting Salons"!
I have the Studio, and inside we create the ART!
Trends are not followed at our Studio - WE CREATE THEM DAILY!
